Overview

Melanotan 1 is a synthetic peptide analog of the naturally occurring alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). It is primarily used in research and clinical settings for its ability to stimulate melanogenesis—the process by which the body produces melanin (skin pigment).

Unlike other tanning agents, Melanotan 1 mimics the action of natural hormones to provide a more uniform and natural-looking tan without the extensive need for harmful UV exposure.
